Artist
and photographer Linda Teeter, a graduate of Pittsburg State University,
is an active force in Joplin's art community. She started the Third
Thursday Discover Downtown Art Walks that take place the Third Thursday of
each month, beginning in May. Art Walks are a great way to help
people discover not only downtown but also the wealth of artistic talent
there is in the area.
Teeter has received many awards for her photographs; her works have appeared in numerous exhibits and private collections. This exhibit features photographic essays documenting the kaleidoscope that is the French Quarter of New Orleans. Her images run the gamut from crumbling architectural elements to jazz music to the tragedy wrought by Hurricane Katrina. Below are some samples of her work, or you can visit her website to see more.
