Frank Young Art Exhibit
The September exhibit features oil paintings by Joplin artist Frank Young, who utilizes the “plein air” technique of the 19th century French landscape painters. He pays special attention to shape, colors, and light as he creates spatial illusion on two dimensional surfaces. For subject matter, the artist has chosen local houses and scenery, including the picturesque round barn at Saginaw. Young has a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA from the University of Cincinnati. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
